Club Closed Championships 2026 — entries now open!

Entries are now open for the Lichfield Squash Club Closed Championships 2026 , which will form a key part of this year’s Lichfield Squash Festival on Saturday 26th September.

As in previous years, the finals will take place on Festival day, giving us a great opportunity to showcase competitive squash across the club and create a strong finals day atmosphere.

This year, we’re planning to run:

A Grade Championship
For the strongest club and team players.

B Grade Championship
For regular club players and developing competitive players.

C Grade Championship
For newer, returning or less experienced players who would like to get involved.

Junior Championship
For our junior members, with preliminary rounds to be arranged during Junior Squash Academy sessions in early September, once everyone is back at school.

You do not need to choose your own grade. For the senior championships, simply let me know that you would like to enter and I will allocate players to the grade I think is most appropriate, based on playing standard and the entries received.

The exact format will depend on entry numbers, but the senior competitions are likely to be run as knockout draws managed on MyCourts, with early rounds played from early September and completed before finals day. Matches will use best of 5 games, PAR 11 scoring.

Entry is free and open to Lichfield Squash Club members only, across all membership categories, including associate members.

The main thing is that senior entrants will need to be available to play their rounds during September and, if they reach the final, be available on Saturday 26th September.
