Less than 1 week to go until the 2026 Lichfield Squash Festival

The countdown is well and truly on - the Lichfield Squash Festival 2026 takes place next Saturday, 26th September , at Lichfield Squash Club, based at King Edward VI School Sports Centre.

This is our big club and community showcase of the year, and we’d love as many members as possible to get behind it.

The Festival is about celebrating everything that is good about our club: competitive squash, junior development, beginner-friendly sessions, a welcoming atmosphere and the chance to introduce more people to this brilliant sport.

Please do come along if you can, whether to help, support, watch the finals, bring family and friends or encourage someone new to have a go.

Try Squash & Open Courts — 10.00am to 12.00pm

The morning session is aimed at children and adults who are new to squash, returning to the sport or simply curious to give it a try.

It is free, friendly and informal.

Rackets and balls will be provided. People just need to bring non-marking trainers.

This is where members can really help. Please think about anyone you know who might enjoy trying squash:

friends
family members
colleagues
neighbours
parents from school
children or teenagers who enjoy sport
adults looking for something active and social

A personal invitation often makes all the difference. If someone is unsure, please reassure them that the session is designed for complete beginners and will be relaxed and welcoming.

Junior and Adult Club Closed Finals from 1.00pm

From 1.00pm, we move into finals day.

The afternoon will include:

Junior Championship Final
Club Closed Finals - C Grade, B Grade and A Grade
Trophy presentations after all finals

It would be fantastic to have a strong club turnout to support the finalists, create a good atmosphere, and make the day feel like a proper club occasion.

The trophies are ready, the certificates and prizes are being prepared and we’re looking forward to crowning this year’s winners and runners-up.

Please do come and watch, even if only for part of the afternoon.

We’ve had a really positive year at the club, with growing membership, more juniors, more coaching activity and more events. The Festival is a great opportunity to bring all of that together and show what Lichfield Squash Club is about.
